Bisher mussten wir wegen der Motor- und Schiffsinspektion immer zumindest in Schiffsn\u00e4he bleiben. Die Arbeiten sind jetzt erledigt und wir hatten eine Tour per Motorroller \u00fcber die Insel geplant. Aber wie das Leben so spielt, das Wetter wird jetzt schlechter und es sieht nach Regen aus. Kaum auf der Stra\u00dfe, beginnt es leicht zu regnen. Unser Ziel ist zun\u00e4chst die Hauptstadt der Bermudas, Hamilton. Sollte der Regen st\u00e4rker werden, k\u00f6nnen wir den Tag dort irgendwie verbringen. Dort wird sich schon ein trockenes Pl\u00e4tzchen finden. Gleich nach St. Georges beginnt das Gel\u00e4nde des Flughafens. Entlang \u00a0irgendwelcher Ausl\u00e4ufer des Atlantiks, \u00fcber Br\u00fccken, kleineren Ortschaften, Golfanlagen, geht es die etwa 50 km nach Hamilton. Schon kurz nach dem Flughafen hatte es aufgeh\u00f6rt zu regnen und jetzt sah es so aus, als k\u00f6nnte dieser Tag noch ein sch\u00f6ner Tag werden. Er schickte uns in Richtung Hafen. Dort gab es jede Menge Stellpl\u00e4tze f\u00fcr Motorroller. Anscheinend ein sehr beliebtes Fortbewegungsmittel auf den Bermudas. Gleich neben unserem Stellplatz lag das niederl\u00e4ndische Kreuzfahrschiff \u201eVeendam\u201c. Eine gute Marke f\u00fcr unsere Roller. Diesmal aber entlang der Stra\u00dfe und den Gesch\u00e4ften und Restaurants. In vielen L\u00e4den konnte man die ber\u00fchmten Bermuda-Shorts kaufen. Aber nat\u00fcrlich gab es auch jede Menge T-Shirts, Hemden und Pullis mit entsprechendem \u201eBermuda\u201c-Aufdruck. Im \u201eVorbeigehen\u201c reservierten wir einen Tisch in einem Restaurant auf dem Balkon in der ersten Etage mit Blick auf die \u201eVeendam\u201c. In der Zwischenzeit gingen wir etwas weiter und entdeckten noch einen gro\u00dfen T-Shirt-Laden in dem wir einige Erinnerungs-Shirts und Geschenke f\u00fcr Zuhause kauften. Das Essen im Restaurant war in Ordnung und wir planten mit unseren Touristen-Karten den Nachmittag. Von Hamilton hatten wir zun\u00e4chst genug gesehen. Wir wollten nat\u00fcrlich noch unsere Motorroller ausnutzen. Also machten wir uns auf den Weg zum Inselende. Zur King\u00b4s Wharf, dem eigentlichen Kreuzfahrer-Hafen. Dazu mussten wir im Prinzip einmal um den Great Sound, der im Norden weit ge\u00f6ffnet ist, herum. Unterwegs genossen wir die tolle K\u00fcstenstra\u00dfe. Bis zur Nordspitze mussten wir \u00fcber vier Br\u00fccken fahren. Bermuda ist nicht nur eine Insel, sondern besteht aus insgesamt 360 Inseln. Darunter sehr viele kleine Inseln. Nur etwa 20 Inseln sind auch bewohnt. Die Nordspitze ist ebenfalls eine Insel (Island North), welche durch die Br\u00fccke \u201eThe Cut Bridge\u201c wiederum mit der Insel Island South verbunden ist, zu der man \u00fcber die Grey\u00b4s Bridge von Boaz Island gelangt. Boaz Island ist wiederum durch die Watford Bridge mit Somerset Island verbunden und diese Insel wiederum durch die Somerset Bridge mit der, ich sage einmal, Hauptinsel. Auf dem R\u00fcckweg nahmen wir auf der Hauptinsel die South Road entlang der Atlantikk\u00fcste. Auf dem Hinweg kamen wir \u00fcber die Harbour und Middle Road, der Seite zum Great Sound. Einen ersten Halt machten wir an einer imposanten Steilk\u00fcste<a href=\"https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3257 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"gibbs_hill\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill-450x300.jpg 450w, https:\/\/sy-bahati.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Gibbs_Hill.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> an der Church Bay. Kurz danach zog uns Gibbs\u00b4Hill Lighthouse magisch an. Von hier aus hatte man einen guten Blick \u00fcber Bermuda mit seinen vielen kleinen Inseln und Lagunen, in denen \u00fcberall Yachten vor Anker oder an Bojen lagen. Nur ein kleines St\u00fcck weiter, bogen wir nach rechts zur Horseshoe Bay ab. Eine wirklich traumhafte Bucht mit einem tollen Sandstrand. Da der Tag schon etwas fortgeschritten war, waren nur noch wenige Menschen an diesem Ort. Unser Ziel war \u201eThe Beach House at Blackbeard\u00b4s\u201c, das Restaurant neben dem Fort St. Catherine und der Achilles Bay. Das Wetter sollte in den n\u00e4chsten Tagen schlechter werden und hier wollten wir noch einmal bei einem guten Essen und einem Gl\u00e4schen Wein die Sonne im Atlantik untergehen sehen. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das Essen sehr gut und die Lage mit der Terrasse zum Meer exzellent. Abschlie\u00dfend fuhren wir mit unseren Motorrollern zu unserem Liegeplatz.
